In Loving Memory of My Father

Michael Dewitt "Mike" Parr
February 11, 1954 - August 15, 2010

Matthew 11:28-29 "Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

On Sunday, August 15, 2010 my father ended his own life. There are no words to express the loss and grief my family feels at this time. There are many unanswered questions that we may never know the answers to in this life. But we have faith and take comfort knowing that he is now in a place of comfort and love and has found peace. He will truly be missed and our lives are forever altered, but I hope he feels our love, understanding and compassion for him.

When I'm Gone

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done.
Forget that I ever had a heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I have stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day.
Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day,
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay,
And come in the evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.

It's hard to find adequate words to express my sorry for your loss. Simply know my family will be in prayer for your family.
